Urticaria
Urticaria is a common allergic skin disease. Initially, the skin itches; after scratching, wheals of varying sizes rapidly appear, causing intense itching. The symptoms rise and fall abruptly, appearing and disappearing suddenly, sometimes affecting mucous membranes, leading to abdominal pain, diarrhea, or laryngeal edema. Commonly used remedies in clinical practice are as follows.
[Formula One]
Jing Jie Sui 10g, Fang Feng 9g, Jin Yin Hua 12g, Niu Ti Zi 10g, Dan Pi 9g, Fu Ping 6g, Sheng Di 9g, Bo He 6g, Huang Qin 10g, Chan Yi 12g, Sheng Gan Cao 6g. Decoct in water for oral use, 1 dose daily, taken twice daily (morning and evening).
This formula clears heat and toxins, dispels wind and relieves itching, suitable for urticaria.
[Formula Two]
Sheng Di 10g, Dang Gui 12g, Chi Bai Shao each 10g, Shou Wu 10g, Huang Qi 12g, Fang Feng, Jie Sui, Ci Ji Li, Chuan Xiong each 9g, Gan Cao 6g. Decoct in water for oral use, 1 dose daily, divided into two doses.
This formula nourishes blood and qi, dispels wind and relieves itching, suitable for urticaria caused by blood deficiency with wind invasion.
[Formula Three]
Xiang Zhang Mu, Wan Can Sha, Xu Chang Qing, Bai Jiang Cao, and Ta He Ye each 30–50g, Zi Su 120g. Select any one herb, decoct in water, use hot steam to fumigate first, then wash, once daily.
This formula is suitable for urticaria.
[Formula Four]
Huang Qi 10g, Bai Zhu, Fang Feng, Gui Zhi each 9g, Bai Shao 10g, Sheng Jiang 6g, Da Zao 9g, Fu Ping 6g, Bai Xian Pi 10g, Jing Jie Sui 9g, Chen Pi 12g, Gan Cao 9g. Decoct in water for oral use,
1 dose daily, taken twice daily (morning and evening).
This formula harmonizes nutritive and defensive qi, strengthens qi and consolidates the exterior, effective for urticaria.
[Formula Five]
Jin Yin Hua 12g, Di Fu Zi, Jie Sui each 9g, Da Huang 10g, Hou Po, Yun Ling each 9g, Bai Shao 10g. Gan Cao 9g. Decoct in water for oral use, 1 dose daily, divided into two doses.
This formula clears heat and disperses wind, suitable for urticaria.
[Formula Six]
Shu Di 9g, Dang Gui, Bai Shao each 20g, Shou Wu, Huang Qi each 30g, Fang Feng, Chuan Xiong each 12g, Gan Cao 30g, Chan Tui 10g, Jing Jie, Bai Ji Li each 12g. Decoct in water for oral use, 1 dose daily, taken once at night or divided into two doses (morning and evening).
This formula originates from "Shandong Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine," Issue 8, 1989, suitable for chronic urticaria.
[Formula Seven]<br=Yu Mi Xu 15g, fermented wine 100g. Place Yu Mi Xu in an aluminum pot, add appropriate water, boil for 20 minutes, remove Yu Mi Xu, then add wine, boil and consume.
This formula is suitable for urticaria.
[Formula Eight]
San Qi 1–1.5g, boneless chicken meat 100g.
Thinly slice San Qi, fry until yellow using chicken oil or pork fat, mix with chicken meat, place in a bowl, add appropriate water, stew gently for 1 hour, add a little salt for flavor. Consume the entire medicine, meat, and soup in one dose, take every day or every 1–2 days, continue for 2–3 doses.
This formula is suitable for urticaria due to yang deficiency and qi weakness or both qi and blood deficiency.
[Formula Nine]
Vinegar 100ml, Mu Gua 60g, Sheng Jiang 9g. Combine all three ingredients in a sandpot and decoct. When vinegar evaporates, remove Mu Gua and Sheng Jiang,
consume in two portions (morning and evening), 1 dose daily until cured.
This formula comes from "Vinegar Egg Cures All Diseases," suitable for urticaria due to external invasion of wind-cold.
