Mung Bean Husk for Eye Diseases – Medicinal Use

Dehulled mung bean husks, known as "Mung Bean Skin" (Dòu Pí), have functions of clearing heat, detoxifying, improving vision, removing corneal opacities, and inhibiting *Staphylococcus aureus*. Clinically, decoctions of mung bean skin are effective in treating external infections such as abscesses, boils, and burns.
For blurred vision, use half an ounce of mung bean husk, decocted and taken orally; for corneal opacity, use two ounces of mung beans, one snake skin, and 30g of rock sugar. Wash the snake skin with licorice water, then stir-fry with sesame oil until yellow, add stir-fried mung beans and rock sugar, decoct and take once daily, continuing for several doses with good results.
Using dried mung bean husk as a pillow core, mixed with dried chrysanthemum as stuffing, can be used by patients with hypertension and age-related eye diseases, offering benefits of lowering blood pressure and improving vision (Eye Diseases)
