External Application Formula for Paranasal Sinusitis
Formula and Usage: 10 grams each of Xiang'erzi (Cnidium monnieri), Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica), Feng Fang (Vespa mandarinia nest), Niu Bang Zi (Arctium lappa), Bo He (Mentha haplocalyx), Xi Xin (Asarum heterotropoides), Sheng Ma (Cimicifuga foetida), Huo Xiang (Agastache rugosa), She Chuang Zi (Cnidium monnieri), and Zhi Chuan Wu (Processed Aconite root). Simmer in a sand pot until boiling, then remove from heat after 10 minutes. Cover the head with a cloth soaked in the decoction, breathing deeply through mouth and nose to inhale medicinal vapors. Once cooled slightly, use gauze dipped in the liquid to wash the forehead and nasal area. One dose can be used four times daily, twice per day. If there is obvious heat signs, add Huang Qin (Scutellaria baicalensis) and Chai Hu (Bupleurum chinense), each 10 grams. For severe nasal itching and excessive discharge, add Jiang Can (Bombyx mori pupa) and Chan Tui (Periostracum cicadae), each 10 grams. For severe nasal obstruction, add Ma Huang (Ephedra sinica), 10 grams.
Function and Indications: Dispel wind-heat, clear toxins, open nasal passages. Used for paranasal sinusitis, thick nasal discharge, nasal obstruction, inability to smell odors, headache, dizziness, fever, chills, red tongue with dry yellow coating, and slippery rapid pulse. Formula for Arrhythmia
Formula and Usage: 250 grams of Nü Zhen Zi (Ligustrum lucidum), add 1500 ml water, simmer gently until reduced to 900 ml. Take 30 ml each time, three times daily, with a course lasting 4 weeks. Alternatively, use 25 grams of Nü Zhen Zi daily, decocted and taken in three doses.
Function: Strengthen heart, promote diuresis, relieve cough, nourish yin and enrich heart. Used for various arrhythmias.
