Treatment for Mid-Cycle Bleeding
Mid-Cycle Bleeding
Mid-cycle bleeding refers to periodic vaginal bleeding occurring between two menstrual periods, i.e., during the intermenstrual phase.
The pathogenesis involves the lack of full essence and energy during the intermenstrual period, with internal activation of yang qi. Combined with kidney yin deficiency, internal damp-heat, or retention of blood stasis, these factors may trigger bleeding. The following are common folk remedies for treating this condition.
[Formula One]
150 grams of prepared rehmannia, 50 grams of southern glutinous rice, appropriate rock sugar. Wash prepared rehmannia, mash it, mix with southern glutinous rice and rock sugar in a clay pot, add well water to cook into a thin porridge. Consume 2–3 times daily, warm.
This formula is suitable for mid-cycle bleeding due to kidney yin deficiency.
[Formula Two]
50 grams of mung beans, 30 grams of coix seed, 250 grams of pork large intestine. Clean the intestine, wash and soak mung beans and coix seed, pack into the intestine, tie both ends tightly, place in a clay pot with water, cook until soft and tender. One dose daily, continue for 7–8 days.
This formula is suitable for mid-cycle bleeding due to damp-heat.
[Formula Three]
200 grams of purple berry plant (half quantity if dried), 4 eggs. Wash purple berry plant, boil with eggs in a clay pot with water, when eggs are cooked, peel them, continue boiling for several hours until eggshell turns black. Take one egg each time, twice daily, complete a course of 100 eggs.
This formula is suitable for mid-cycle bleeding due to blood stasis.
