Treatment for Urinary Retention During Pregnancy

Urinary Retention During Pregnancy
Urinary retention during pregnancy refers to the inability to urinate during pregnancy, accompanied by abdominal distension and pain, restlessness, and inability to lie down comfortably.
This condition mainly results from the downward pressure of fetal qi on the bladder, causing obstruction of the bladder and urinary tract, preventing urine from being excreted. Common folk remedies for treating urinary retention during pregnancy are as follows.
[Formula One]
Fresh peach blossoms 5 flowers, dried sea moss 10 grams, cooked ham 10 grams, eggs 4, seasonings as needed. Remove the stamens from fresh peach blossoms, take the petals, wash and drain them, then cut into strips. Wash and rinse sea moss, add cooking wine, steam thoroughly in a steamer, then chop into fine pieces. Chop ham and fresh ginger into small bits. Beat eggs in a bowl, mix with chicken broth, monosodium glutamate, cooking wine, white pepper powder, refined salt, and wet starch until well blended. Heat a frying pan over fire, add lard, stir-fry ginger bits until fragrant, remove, then add the prepared egg mixture and stir-fry until cooked. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with peach blossom strips, sea moss, and ham.

[Formula Two]
Carp 1 piece (about 250 grams), bamboo shoots 25 grams, rehydrated mushrooms 5 pieces, seasonings as needed. Wash bamboo shoots and mushrooms separately, slice them. Clean carp, remove scales, gills, internal organs, and hard skin under the jaw, marinate with yellow wine, salt, and ground black pepper for 20 minutes, then place in a bowl. Place mushroom slices in the middle of the fish body, arrange bamboo shoot slices at both ends, add a little yellow wine, scallion segments, ginger slices, and monosodium glutamate, steam for 1.5–2 hours until the fish is tender, then remove scallions and ginger.

Lobster meat 180 grams, ginger flower 0.9 grams, green onion segments 9 grams, sugar 0.6 grams, broth 45 grams, monosodium glutamate 0.6 grams, sesame oil 0.9 grams, ground black pepper 0.09 grams, Shao wine 9 grams, wet starch 3 grams, vegetable oil 750 grams (using 45 grams). Cut lobster meat into cube-shaped balls, mix with refined salt. Heat a wok over high flame, add oil, fry the fish balls over medium heat until about 60% cooked, then transfer to a sieve to drain oil. Return the wok to heat, add broth, ginger, wine, salt, sugar, sesame oil, ground black pepper, and fish balls, cover and cook until about 80% done, then add green onion segments, adjust with wet starch and monosodium glutamate, and finish with sesame oil.
This formula is suitable for urinary retention during pregnancy due to kidney deficiency.
[Formula Four]
Seasonal green onions 500 grams. Wash the onions without removing roots, break them by hand, place in a clay pot, stir-fry until cooked, use in two portions alternately. Take half each time, wrap in cloth or towel, apply warm compress to lower abdomen, gently rub from navel toward pubic bone. Replace when cold. Use once or twice daily, about 30 minutes per session, at any time.
