Treatment Methods for Children's Whooping Cough
Children's whooping cough is clinically characterized by paroxysmal, spasmodic coughing during the first 1–2 weeks of onset. During severe coughing episodes, a prolonged crow-like inspiratory sound follows the end of each attack. Wind Poppy Shell 20–40 grams, Sugar-Enriched Wax Gourd 30–(0) grams. Boil in water and drink as tea. Sweet taste makes it palatable for children. One dose per day, typically 4–6 doses suffice.

4 pig kidneys, 2 tomatoes, 10 grams agar, 400 grams white sugar, 9 grams Tian Dong, 9 grams Stemona, 8 grams mulberry leaf, 8 grams Qian Hu, 8 grams licorice, 8 grams Purple Fleeceflower, 8 grams Winter Flower, 8 grams Citrus Seed, 7 grams Anemarrhena, 8 grams apricot kernel, 6 grams Tangerine Peduncle, 20 grams fresh reed root, 12 grams bamboo茹, 15 grams green onion knot, 4 grams ginger block. Clean the pig kidneys, halve them, remove kidney odor and white tendons, slice thinly. Blanch red tomatoes briefly in boiling water, peel off outer skin, slice thinly. Wash agar, clean herbs, rinse impurities, decoct in clay pot with water, strain out sediment, transfer to stir-fry pan, place over medium heat, pour in decoction, add ginger and green onions, cook kidney slices until tender, transfer to porcelain plate, spread tomato slices flat. Then put agar into the decoction, simmer gently until dissolved, add white sugar, dissolve, pour over kidney slices, cool down and refrigerate until set into jelly, cut into triangular pieces. Serve as side dish.

Exposed Bee Nest (with larvae) 10 grams, tofu 50 grams, white sugar 20 grams. Boil bee nest with 100 ml water for 30 minutes, extract juice, add tofu and white sugar, reboil for 10 minutes. Drink the broth and eat the tofu. One dose per day, twice daily.

12 jujubes, 120 grams carrot. Boil jujubes and carrots, extract juice. Add sugar to the liquid, drink frequently like tea, continue for more than ten doses.

One sparrow. Pluck coarse feathers, roast over fire until blackened, remove internal organs, wash, and stew until consumed. One sparrow daily until cured.

5 fresh scallion mushrooms, half bowl of rice broth, appropriate amount of rock sugar. Wash fresh scallion mushrooms, peel, crush, mix with rice broth and rock sugar, steam over water until soft and pasty. Consume once daily, continue for several days.
