Various Treatments for Pediatric Enuresis

Pediatric Enuresis
Pediatric enuresis refers to involuntary urination during sleep in children over 3 years old, with awareness only upon waking. This condition arises due to underdeveloped intelligence and incomplete formation of normal urination habits, leading to inability to control urination voluntarily. Generally, enuresis is associated with cold deficiency in the stomach and bladder. Commonly used folk remedies for pediatric enuresis are as follows.
[Formula One]
Chinese Yam, Yizhi Ren (salt-fried), Wu Yao each 60 g, one pig bladder. Grind the first three ingredients into fine powder, wrap in gauze, combine with pig bladder, stew until cooked. Take twice daily, eat meat and drink soup.
This formula applies to enuresis due to kidney yang deficiency.
[Formula Two]

Dog meat with bone, clear chicken broth each 1500 g, tangerine peel, garlic chives, chili, seasonings as needed. Cut dog meat into chunks, garlic chives into segments, chili into thin strips. Heat wok, dry dog meat, remove. Boil wok over high heat, add 30 g peanut oil, stir-fry garlic paste and doubanjiang (fermented broad bean paste) as needed, then add ginger slices and garlic chives. Add dog meat, stir-fry while adding peanut oil, cook about 5 minutes, add cooking wine, chicken broth, salt, tangerine peel, soy sauce, sugar, bring to boil, transfer to clay pot, simmer for 90 minutes. Add monosodium glutamate before serving, consume with meals.

[Formula Four]
Goat meat 150–250 g, fish maw 50 g, Astragalus 30 g, seasonings as needed. Wash goat meat, cut into slices, combine with fish maw and Astragalus, decoct with water, add cinnamon bark, ginger, salt, cook until done, drink soup and eat meat and fish maw.

[Formula Five]
White Ginkgo Nut (shell and core removed) 10 g, tofu skin 50 g, white rice as needed. Since ginkgo nut toxins can be volatilized and destroyed after prolonged boiling, it is best to use a pot with a perforated lid (or slightly open the lid instead of sealing tightly) to allow better toxin evaporation. Cook ginkgo nuts, tofu skin, and rice together into a thick porridge, serve as a meal.
