Insect-Based Remedies for Diseases
Locust larvae: Catch one locust larva from rice seedling fields, place it on the patient’s Bai Hui acupoint (on top of the head) until dead. After 3–5 minutes, the patient feels mild burning pain at the Bai Hui point, followed by redness or blisters; toothache disappears immediately.
Centipede: Take two centipedes and one steamed bun. Wrap the centipedes in the bun and consume before meals. Treats mastitis.
Grasshopper: Capture 30 grasshoppers, scald them with hot water, dry, then mix with a small amount of garlic and boil in water. Drink the concentrated broth or eat entirely. Treats oligospermia in men.
Earthworm: Buy three earthworms (also known as basket bugs) from a pharmacy, plus 5g borneol. First roast the earthworms until dry, then grind together with borneol into fine powder. Apply to oral mucosa and ulcerated areas on the tongue several times daily. Treats mouth sores.
Termite Queen: Consume one termite queen by pouring boiling water over it. Treats asthma.
Stink Bug (also known as Nine-Scent Bug): Collect several stink bugs, suffocate and dry them. Use 20–40 stink bugs soaked in 500ml alcohol, seal and steep for several days. Drink twice daily, or fry with lard. Treats kidney deficiency-related lumbar pain.
Dung Beetle (also known as Coprophagous Beetle): Take an appropriate amount of dung beetle and dried ginger, both ground into fine powder, pass through a 120-mesh sieve, mix in ratio of 2 parts dung beetle to 1 part ginger. After washing the affected area with strong tea or crushed garlic juice, blow the powder onto the site. Once daily. Treats bone tuberculosis.<Insects>
