Deworming Treatment
Benzimidazoles are broad-spectrum anti-nematode drugs. Albendazole 400mg, single dose. Mebendazole is a C-type crystalline micro-particle preparation, 500mg as a single dose. Worms can be expelled within 2–4 days. Efficacy exceeds 90%, generally without side effects.
Pyrantel is a broad-spectrum anti-nematode drug. Adults: 500mg, single dose. Children: 10mg/kg, single dose. Contraindicated in pregnant women, patients with liver, kidney, or heart diseases.
Piperazine has anticholinergic effects, causing paralysis of worm muscles. Adults: 3g, children: 80–100mg/kg, taken once on an empty stomach or at night, for 2 consecutive days. Contraindicated in patients with liver/kidney disease or epilepsy. Cure rate is 70%–80%.<br(Levo)Moxazolone: adults 150–200mg, single dose.
