Nangchong San
【Function and Indications】
Function: Kill parasites, soften hardness, and disperse nodules. Indicated for cysticercosis.
【Prescription Composition】
Pinellia Ternata (prepared) 30g, Tangerine Peel 30g, Poria 40g, White Mustard Seed 40g, Coix Seed 50g, Polyporus 30g; all herbs ground into fine powder, sieved through a 100-mesh sieve, stored for use. Oral administration: twice daily, 15g each time. Can also be made into water pills or honey pills, 15g each time, twice daily. One course lasts 30 days. Can continue for 1–6 courses.
【Differential Diagnosis and Modification】
If restlessness: add Cortex Moutan 15g, Dragon Bone 20g, Polygala 20g, Jujube Seed 15g; if nodules disappear slowly: add Sea Algae 30g, Large Oyster Shell 30g, Safflower 15g.<Cysticercosis>
