Common Western Medications
1. Albendazole (Stek): 2 tablets per dose, effective against adult worms, larvae, and eggs of multiple intestinal parasites including roundworms and hookworms.
2. Pyrantel Pamoate (Piperazine): ① For roundworm expulsion: adults 3–3.5g daily; children 100–150mg/kg/day (maximum 4.0g), continuous use for 2 days. ② For pinworm expulsion: adults 1.0–1.2g per dose, twice daily; children 50mg/kg/day, total daily dose not exceeding 2.0g, divided into two doses in morning and evening. Continuous use for 7–10 days.
3. Mebendazole (Miechongning): Adults take 3.0g on an empty stomach; children 0.2–0.3g per year (max 3.0g per dose). In areas with severe infection, can be used continuously for 2 days, mainly for hookworm expulsion.
4. Levamisole (Quchijing): For roundworms: adults 150mg, children 3mg/kg, single dose before bedtime, administer laxative if constipated. For hookworms: adults and children both 2mg/kg, single dose before bedtime, continuous use for 3 days. For pinworms: 1mg/kg per day, single dose, continuous use for 1 week.
5. Niclosamide (Mietao Ling): Adults 2.0–3.0g/day, divided into 2 doses, 1 hour apart, chew thoroughly before swallowing, administer magnesium sulfate as laxative 2 hours later.<Drive Parasites>
