Anshen Zibu Fang 6
Three pears, 25 grams of rock sugar. Wash the pears, peel them, slice them, add water and boil for 20 minutes, sweeten with rock sugar, divide into two portions for consumption, drink the soup and eat the pears. Originally used for “wind-heat invading the heart, causing restlessness, confusion, and unstable mind.” Wind-heat invading the heart leads to restless spirit, irritability, confusion, and inability to sleep at night. Treatment should clear heat, dispel wind, calm the heart, and soothe the spirit. Pears are fruits of cultivated plants such as white pear, sand pear, or autumn pear (Rosaceae family). They are sweet with slight sourness, cool in nature, particularly effective in clearing heat and resolving phlegm, generating body fluids, and moistening dryness. Combined with rock sugar, which tonifies the spleen and moistens the lungs, it forms a formula that clears heat, resolves phlegm, harmonizes the middle burner, and calms the spirit. Suitable for insomnia and irritability caused by phlegm-heat disturbing the heart or heat illness damaging body fluids leading to heart deficiency. If wind pathogen is prominent, add mint or chrysanthemum to disperse wind.Supplemental Formula
