Twenty jujubes, ten grams of green onion white. Wash the jujubes, split them open, combine with green onion white in a pot, add water and boil, after boiling for 15–20 minutes, remove and filter the liquid. Drink once nightly, warm and consumed. Jujubes are sweet and moist, excellent for strengthening the spleen, boosting qi, nourishing blood, and calming the spirit. They are frequently used for conditions like palpitations, anxiety, forgetfulness, and insomnia resulting from deficiency of heart and spleen spirits. Green onion white is the bulbous base of the Allium fistulosum (Liliaceae family), also known as "green onion head." It is pungent, warm, and dispersing, promoting yang energy throughout the body. In this formula, green onion white serves another purpose: jujubes are rich and greasy, so adding green onion white’s pungent dispersion helps activate jujube’s nourishing effect without increasing dampness or generating heat, preventing fullness in the abdomen.
