Nourishing Yin and Supplementing Yang Method
1. Collecting Solar Essence Method
On the first, second, and third days of each lunar month, when the sun just rises, face the sun and sit or stand quietly. Inhale through mouth and throat for 24 breaths, then mentally guide the solar light to the lower dantian; if saliva increases in the mouth, it may also be swallowed and sent to the dantian. This is called the "Collecting Solar Essence" method, which helps supplement yang.
2. Absorbing Moonlight Method
On the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth nights of each lunar month, when the moon is brightest, face the moon and sit or stand quietly. Inhale through mouth and throat for 24 breaths, then mentally guide the moonlight to the lower dantian. This is known as the "Absorbing Moonlight" method, which helps nourish yin.
Additionally, at night outdoors, adopt a relaxed standing posture with palms facing down. When inhaling, raise both hands upward to absorb earth's yin; when exhaling, press hands downward. Alternatively, inhale while pushing hands forward to absorb earth's yin, exhale while pulling hands backward—this is the "Absorbing Earth's Yin" method.
