Dingfeng Wine

15 grams each of Tianmen Dong (Asparagus), Mai Men Dong (Ophiopogon), Sheng Di (Rehmannia), Shu Di (Prepared Rehmannia), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum), Wu Jia Pi (Acanthopanax), Niu Xi (Cyathula), Qin Hao (Artemisia), and 9 grams Chuan Gui Zhi (Cinnamon twig). Place these herbs in a silk bag. Pour 1000 ml distilled liquor, 500 grams pure honey, 500 grams red sugar, and 500 grams aged rice vinegar into a container, mix well, place in a ceramic jar, seal with tofu skin, press with a heavy stone, then steam over water for three incense-burning periods (ensure the jar is spacious enough to prevent overflow during steaming). After removal, bury in soil for seven days. Consume in moderation. Function: nourishes blood, calms wind, strengthens tendons and bones. Suitable for patients with deficiency wind diseases—drinking regularly can cure them. The herbs are mild and balanced; regular consumption by the elderly brings great benefit without adverse effects. Although alcohol is generally hot in nature, distilled liquor is even more potent—its consistency is like lamb intestine and texture like pork fat, capable of digesting grains, thus not only depleting food but also harming the body. Therefore, it should be strictly avoided. Yet, its medicinal and longevity-promoting benefits cannot be overlooked.<Nourishing Formula>
