Secret Method for Whitening with Taro and Rice Porridge
[Composition] 100 grams of taro, 50 grams of white rice, appropriate amount of brown sugar.
[Preparation and Usage] Wash and peel the taro, cut into small pieces, cook together with rice into porridge. When ready, mash the taro into paste, add sugar, and eat for breakfast.
[Efficacy and Application] Promotes tissue regeneration, strengthens muscles, tonifies qi and widens intestines, strengthens spleen and kidneys, similar to yam. Suitable for those with spleen-kidney deficiency and general weakness, can be used regularly as a tonic and for beautifying complexion.
Note: Ancient texts record 14 varieties of taro. The commonly consumed taro today is “sweet” variety mentioned in Compendium of Materia Medica. This variety contains mild toxicity and has the effect of breaking up old blood stasis—must be distinguished accordingly.<Whitening>
