🌿 Folk Prescriptions

Fragrant body and deodorizing formulas refer to prescriptions that make the body and clothing fragrant and clean while eliminating body odor. Their mechanisms of action include dispersing foul odors through fragrance, dispelling wind and dampness, stopping perspiration and eliminating odor, and harmonizing qi and blood. The following are commonly used effective remedies. [Formula One] Equal parts of Purple Quartz Powder, Green Sandalwood, Ephedra Root, Aconite, Sweetgrass, Agastache, and Lingxiang. Seven herbs; except for quartz powder, crush and sieve into fine powder. Place in a silk pouch. After bathing, apply an appropriate amount of fragrant powder evenly onto the body. This formula beautifies the skin, refreshes the body, and stops perspiration. [Formula Two] 30 grams each of Frankincense, Musk, White Sandalwood, Green Sandalwood, Lingxiang, White芷, Sweetgrass, Agastache, Cinnamon Twig, Ligusticum, Areca Nut, and Cardamom; 15 grams of Cyperus; 1 gram of Clove. Fourteen herbs, crushed and sieved into powder. Mix with honey to form pills the size of Chinese parasol seeds. Chew slowly and swallow saliva when taste fades. Avoid pungent foods (five pungent spices). Use with caution in individuals with yin deficiency and fire excess or those prone to bleeding. Not suitable for long-term use due to risk of excessive heat and dryness aggravating yang and injuring yin. After taking this formula, the entire body becomes fragrant and breath is fresh. [Formula Three] 3 grams of Borneol, 1.5 grams of Musk, 9 grams of Borax, 6 grams of Mint. Grind into extremely fine powder. Prepare with licorice paste into pills the size of sesame seeds, coat with cinnabar. Dissolve one pill in mouth as needed. This formula makes the whole body fragrant. [Formula Four] Equal parts of White芷, Spikenard, Duyu, Du Heng, and Gao Ben. Make into honey pills. Take 3 pills in the morning, 4 pills in the evening. This formula gives a pleasant fragrance; after 20 days, feet become fragrant. [Formula Five] 90 grams of Frankincense, 45 grams each of Lingxiang, Clove, Musk, 3 grams of Shell Amber, 6 grams each of Xunlingxiang and Sweetgrass, 3 grams of Sandalwood, 15 grams each of Agastache and Clove. Sieve all ten herbs, mix with honey, and store in a perfumed sachet bottle. This formula makes clothes fragrant. [Formula Six] 30 grams of Peony, 1 gram of Sweetgrass. Crush into fine powder. Add 3 grams to rinse water when washing clothes. This formula is used for fragrant laundry. [Formula Seven] 300 grams of White Lead, 30 grams each of Mita Sheng, White Sandalwood, 15 grams of Coptis, trace amounts of Borneol and Musk, 150 grams of Clamshell Powder, 6 grams each of Light Powder and Cinnabar, 5 gold foils, 3 grams of Eagle Tail. Grind all herbs into fine powder, mix thoroughly. Apply evenly to face and body skin upon waking or after bathing. Leave on for some time before rinsing off. This formula nourishes the skin, softens it, detoxifies, and treats sores. [Formula Eight] 15 grams each of Lingxiang, Sweetgrass, White Sandalwood, 0.3 grams each of Cubeb, Musk, and Borneol. Grind into fine powder, place in a sachet, and keep in a wardrobe. This formula perfumes clothing.<Deodorization>
