Flavorful Health-Promoting Rice
The rice we normally eat is usually cooked with plain water. But adding a little ingredient during cooking not only gives it unique flavor but also brings health benefits—some call this “health-promoting rice.”
Onion Rice: Chop onion finely, add a little salt, wait for water to boil, then add rice and cook slowly until ready. Onion rice emits a distinctive aroma, with benefits including expanding blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and blood sugar, preventing intestinal diseases, and aiding digestion.
Spinach Rice: First sauté onion, then stir-fry chopped spinach, add rice, tomato, salt, pepper, and cook slowly. It protects vision, nourishes yin, replenishes blood, and promotes bowel movement.
Tea Rice: Soak tea in boiling water for a few minutes, then use the tea water to cook rice. This tea rice is fragrant and pleasant, with benefits including treating cardiovascular diseases, preventing gastrointestinal infections, and aiding weight loss and skin beautification.
Tomato Juice Rice: First sauté onion and garlic until fragrant, then add tomato juice and water, pour in rice, and cook until done. This rice helps generate fluids, quench thirst, aid digestion, and improve eyesight.
Ginger Juice Beef Rice: Chop fresh beef finely, mix with ginger juice, soy sauce, peanut oil, etc. When rice is nearly cooked, spread the mixture over the rice, cover, and steam for 15 minutes. Regular consumption helps dispel cold, strengthen the stomach, and tonify qi.
Red Date Chicken Glutinous Rice: Remove cores from 100g red dates, chop finely. Cut chicken into thin strips. Combine with washed glutinous rice in a pot and steam. This rice is sweet and fragrant, with benefits including tonifying the center, strengthening the stomach, and nourishing the body.
