Ginseng and Honey Porridge
[Ingredients] Ginseng 3 grams, Honey 50 grams, Ginger juice 5 milliliters, Leek juice 5 milliliters, Rice 100 grams.
[Preparation] Slice ginseng and soak overnight in clean water. Simultaneously place soaked ginseng and its water along with washed rice into a clay pot, simmer gently to make porridge. When nearly done, add honey, ginger juice, and leek juice, mix well, and cook briefly.
[Usage] One dose daily, consumed in portions. Each course consists of six doses. The next course can be started after a 6–10 day interval.
[Effect] Regulate the middle energizer, tonify Qi, moisten intestines, relieve constipation, enrich skin and flesh.
[Indication] Suitable for pale complexion due to Qi deficiency and constipation in middle-aged and elderly people with both Qi and blood deficiency.
[Comment] Avoid strong tea and white radish during consumption of this porridge.
