Kidney Deficiency? Eat More Tomatoes
Li Mr. called to say his sexual activity was frequent and he was worried about kidney deficiency leading to diseases like nephritis. Experts replied that determining whether sexual frequency is excessive should first be based on age. For young people in their 20s, 5–7 times per week is normal; for those in their 30s, 3–5 times per week; for those in their 40s, once a week; for those in their 50s, once a month. Exceeding these frequencies is considered excessive.
Experts pointed out that kidney deficiency does not cause nephritis or similar conditions, but may lead to premature aging, functional decline, osteophyte formation, and sub-health symptoms. Kidney deficiency primarily relies on qi regulation and health preservation through medication, dietary therapy, and exercise. Dietary therapy includes consuming raw chestnuts, broccoli, tomatoes, jujubes, yam, oranges, pork liver, boiled peanuts, etc. Kidney deficiency can result from various causes; if due to excessive sexual activity, controlling the frequency of sex is the fundamental way to protect the kidneys.
