Dietary Therapy for Infant and Child Cold
Colds are the most common illness in children. Here are some dietary remedies for infant and child colds for parents’ reference.
Ingredients: 5 slices of white radish, 3 slices of ginger, 3 jujubes, 30 grams of honey.
Preparation: Boil radish, ginger, and jujubes with adequate water for about 30 minutes, strain, add honey, reboil.
Usage: Drink warm, once or twice daily.
Benefits: Radish clears heat, generates fluids, cools blood, stops bleeding, resolves phlegm, and relieves cough; ginger dispels wind-cold, stops nausea and belching; jujube harmonizes the stomach, nourishes blood, and moderates medicinal effects; honey moistens dryness and relieves cough. Overall, this formula is particularly suitable for treating wind-cold cough.
Caution: Not recommended for children with wind-heat cough characterized by fever and yellow phlegm.
