Dietary Remedy for Frequent Nighttime Urination in the Elderly
Elderly individuals often experience reduced physiological function and decreased bladder elasticity, limiting urine storage capacity. Especially in cold winter weather, soft tissues contract to conserve heat, making frequent nighttime urination common. Dietary therapy proves effective in managing excessive nocturnal urination. Specific methods include:
40 grams each of shiitake mushrooms, red dates, and rock sugar, steamed together, consumed twice daily (morning and evening), one course lasting one week.
120 grams of glutinous rice mixed with 30 grams of rock sugar, steamed over low heat until done, taken once daily for one week continuously.
One sheep’s stomach, cleaned thoroughly, boiled with water, seasoned with salt, eaten on an empty stomach, once daily for 4–5 days consecutively.
One sheep’s lung, cleaned and diced, combined with a small amount of mutton and stewed, seasoned with salt to taste, consumed in portions.
