Classic Dietary Therapy for Women with Anemia

🔑 Keywords: Pharmacological Diet
Anemia refers to a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood. Causes of anemia primarily include excessive destruction of red blood cells, poor hematopoiesis, and blood loss.
Anemia falls under the category of “deficiency syndromes” in traditional Chinese medicine, commonly seen as blood deficiency, qi deficiency, yin deficiency, or yang deficiency. Patients can choose appropriate dietary therapies based on their condition:
1. 15 grams of longan flesh, 3–5 jujubes, 100 grams of glutinous rice.
Boil together into porridge, consume warm.
Benefits: Nourishes heart and spleen, strengthens constitution.
2. 2 pounds (1000 grams) of fresh sheep bone, 200 grams of glutinous rice.
Wash the sheep bone, crush it, boil with water to make broth, remove residue, then add rice to cook into porridge. Add appropriate seasoning while warm, consume daily for 10–15 days as one course.
Benefits: Tonifies kidney and strengthens bones.
3. 100 grams of brown glutinous rice, 50 grams of coix seed, 15 jujubes. Boil together into porridge. Add appropriate sugar when consuming.
Benefits: Nourishes yin and enriches blood.
4. 60 grams of processed polygonum multiflorum, 3–5 jujubes, 100 grams of glutinous rice. First, decoct polygonum multiflorum to extract concentrated juice, discard residue, then add jujubes and rice to cook into porridge. Just before finishing, add appropriate rock sugar, simmer briefly. Consume warm. Note: Polygonum multiflorum should not be cooked in iron utensils; use clay or enamel pots instead.
Benefits: Tonifies liver and kidneys, nourishes blood, treats deficiency.
5. 2 eggs, separate yolks, beat them. Boil water, add a pinch of salt, pour in egg yolks and cook until done. Drink twice daily.
Benefits: Supplements iron, suitable for iron-deficiency anemia.
6. 150 grams of pig liver, appropriate spinach. Wash and slice pig liver, mix with starch, salt, soy sauce, and monosodium glutamate, stir-fry with blanched spinach. Alternatively, wash 50 grams of pig liver, slice, boil in water until nearly cooked, add spinach, bring to boil, add seasoning, eat liver, vegetables, and drink soup.
Benefits: Supplements iron, suitable for iron-deficiency anemia.
