Drink Soups to Fade Facial Spots
Everyone hopes to have a rosy, smooth complexion, which not only brings aesthetic pleasure but also enhances mental well-being and benefits physical health. However, some people suffer from numerous brown freckles, more commonly found in women than men. What remedies exist? Among natural foods, many possess skin-nourishing and freckle-removing properties. Here are several clinically verified effective dietary methods.
Tomato Juice:
Drinking one glass of tomato juice daily or regularly eating tomatoes helps prevent freckles. Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C, known as the "warehouse of vitamin C." Vitamin C inhibits tyrosinase activity in the skin, effectively reducing melanin formation, thus making the skin fairer and fading dark spots.
Cucumber Porridge:
Take 100 grams of rice, 300 grams of fresh tender cucumber, 2 grams of refined salt, and 10 grams of ginger. Wash the cucumber, peel and remove seeds, slice thinly. Wash rice clean, crush ginger. Add about 1000 ml of water to a pot, bring to boil over high heat, then switch to low heat and simmer until rice is soft. Add cucumber slices and cook until the porridge thickens, season with refined salt. Consume twice daily warm. This helps moisturize skin, fade spots, and aid weight loss. Modern research confirms cucumbers contain abundant potassium salts, carotene, vitamins C, B1, B2, sugars, proteins, and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and iron. Regular consumption of cucumber porridge can eliminate freckles and whiten skin.
Black Fungus and Red Date Soup:
Use 30 grams of black fungus, 20 red dates. Clean black fungus, remove pits from dates, add sufficient water, and simmer for about half an hour. Take once after breakfast and dinner daily. Regular intake helps maintain youthful appearance, fade spots, improve body shape, and treat facial dark spots and thinness. According to *Compendium of Materia Medica*, black fungus can remove facial dark spots. Black fungus moisturizes skin and prevents aging; red dates harmonize Qi and nourish spleen, aiding black fungus in removing dark spots.
Carrot Juice:
Grind fresh carrots and extract juice, take 10–30 ml daily. After washing face in the morning and evening, gently pat fresh juice onto the face and let it dry, then lightly tap the face with oil-coated hands. Drinking one glass of carrot juice daily also helps fade spots. Carrots contain abundant vitamin A precursor. In the body, this converts to vitamin A, which lubricates and strengthens skin, preventing roughness and freckles.
Additionally, using decoction from winter melon vines to wash face or bathe can moisturize skin and remove freckles. Marigold leaf juice also has skincare and spot-removal benefits. Crush marigold leaves, extract juice, apply to face—this clears freckles and refreshes and whitens skin. Dandelion flower water can also be used to remove spots: take a handful of dandelions, pour boiling water over them, cool down, filter, then use dandelion flower water to wash face morning and night, keeping the face clean and reducing dermatitis.
