Walnut kernels combined with Psoralea corylifolia and Eucommia ulmoides treat lower back soreness and insomnia due to kidney yang deficiency; walnut kernels paired with persimmon cake treat lung deficiency-related cough.<br>Walnuts contain glycerol linoleate, along with alpha-linolenic acid and glycerol oleate, which help reduce cholesterol levels—beneficial for patients with arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases.<br>Walnuts have high phospholipid content, which maintains normal cellular metabolism and prevents brain cell degeneration, making them an excellent brain-boosting food. The choline in phospholipids promotes fat metabolism in liver cells, thus alleviating fatty liver. Walnuts contain abundant lysine, which increases serum protein levels and helps maintain body weight—beneficial for treating wasting diseases like cancer and tuberculosis. Additionally, walnuts contain juglone, which inhibits certain tumors. Mix 100g sugar with a little water, simmered until dissolved, then immediately add 50g honey and 100g mulberry seeds. Combine with walnut and black sesame seeds, cool down, cut into pieces. Take 2–3 times daily, 50–60g per dose. Not suitable for seborrheic alopecia, diabetes, or diarrhea.<br>Moistening Intestines and Relieving Constipation Formula:<br>For dry stools and weak bowel movements due to blood deficiency in elderly people. 100g black sesame seeds, stir-fried and crushed, mixed with 100g cooked walnut kernels. Add a pinch of salt and appropriate amount of sesame oil. Consume twice daily with congee.<br>Brain-Nourishing and Kidney-Strengthening Formula: For symptoms such as insufficient brain marrow, insomnia, forgetfulness, dizziness, and tinnitus due to kidney essence deficiency. 300g walnut kernels, 200g goji berries, 200g ligustrum fruit, 200g stir-fried lotus seeds, 50g stir-fried jujubes. Place in bottle or jar, cover with low-alcohol wine at least 1 inch above herbs, stir occasionally. After half a month, add honey appropriately and consume moderately.<br>Walnut kernels have laxative effects, but boiling walnut shells can treat diarrhea. Due to their high oil content, walnut kernels should be used cautiously by those with diarrhea or seborrheic dermatitis.
