Dietary Therapy Formulas for Various Liver Diseases in Winter

🔑 Keywords: Health Food Recipes
Winter is a peak season for liver diseases. Recently, reporters interviewed Professor Li Junxiang from the Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Professor Li emphasized that liver patients should moderately supplement protein, adequately replenish vitamins, appropriately consume trace elements, and limit fat and sugar intake. He also provided winter dietary therapy formulas.
Chronic Hepatitis
Astragalus and Yam Porridge: 30g astragalus (washed), 150g fresh yam (cut into thin slices). First, boil astragalus in a pot with sufficient water for half an hour, strain out residue, then add yam slices and simmer another half hour. Season with salt or sugar.
Applicable to: Those feeling fatigued, short of breath, pale complexion, loose stools.
Cordyceps Duck Stew: 1 whole domestic duck (~1500g), cleaned after slaughter, feet removed, internal organs cleared, washed; 10g cordyceps. Place duck in a clay pot, top with cordyceps and ginger slices. Boil over high heat, then simmer gently for 1 hour until duck is tender. Add salt and monosodium glutamate to taste.

Liver Cirrhosis
Carassius Auratus and Astragalus Soup: 1 live crucian carp (~400g), scale and internal organs removed, gills extracted, washed; 30g astragalus (sliced, washed, placed in a gauze bag and tied). Place the gauze bag in the pot with sufficient water, boil for ~30 minutes, then add carp and simmer until cooked. Remove the gauze bag, add ginger, scallion, salt, and monosodium glutamate to taste.
Applicable to: Auxiliary treatment for ascites due to liver cirrhosis.
Almond Porridge: 15g almonds, 50g glutinous rice. Wash rice. Remove almond skins, place in pot with 500ml water, simmer gently for ~30 minutes, extract liquid, discard residue. Combine almond liquid with rice, add water, boil over high heat, then simmer until porridge is done. Consume once daily on an empty stomach.
Applicable to: Supports auxiliary treatment for liver cirrhosis.
Fatty Liver
Poria Powder Porridge: 30g poria, 50g glutinous rice, 10 jujubes. Wash jujubes and rice. Place jujubes and rice in pot, add 600ml water, boil over high heat, then simmer to porridge.

Alcohol-Induced Liver Disease
Red Bean and Job's Tears Porridge: 50g red beans, 50g job's tears, boiled together into porridge.
