Delicious Broths to Combat Autumn Dryness
With autumn arriving, the climate shifts from hot to cool, air moisture decreases, and the human body undergoes physiological changes due to dryness, commonly referred to as "autumn dryness." Symptoms include thirst, dry throat, hoarseness, dry cough, and dry skin.
Traditional Chinese medicine has long advocated dietary regulation to resist "dryness," based on the theory of "moisturize when dry." Practical experience confirms that drinking nourishing, moisture-retaining broths in autumn is highly beneficial!
White Wormwood Root Snow Pear Pork Lung Soup
[Ingredients] Fresh white wormwood root 200 grams, snow pear 2 pieces, pork lung 1 set, dried tangerine peel 5 grams.
[Preparation] Wash the pork lung, cut into chunks, blanch in boiling water for 5 minutes, rinse clean; cut snow pear into chunks, remove core and pit; cut white wormwood root into short pieces. Soak dried tangerine peel in water until soft, then combine with pork lung, snow pear, and white wormwood root in a pot, simmer gently for 2 hours.
[Benefits] Clears heat, moistens the lungs, resolves phlegm, relieves cough, cools blood, and aids digestion. Suitable for autumn heat, nosebleeds, coughing, dry cough without phlegm, blood-tinged phlegm, thick yellow phlegm, sore throat, hoarseness, dry lips and tongue, and constipation. Snow Pear Southern Apricot Lean Meat Soup
[Ingredients] One fresh snow pear, southern apricot kernels, and lean pork as needed.
[Preparation] Peel the snow pear, then boil together with southern apricot kernels and lean pork for 2 hours. Serve after cooking.

Pinellia Apple Drink
[Ingredients] One premium apple, about 10 grams of Pinellia powder, and appropriate honey.
[Preparation] Cut the apple horizontally, remove the center, place 10 grams of Pinellia powder and appropriate honey inside, replace the top, secure with toothpicks, steam over water for 2 hours. Consume both the soup and residue.

Preserved Duck Kidney Dried Vegetable Honey Date Soup
[Ingredients] 4 preserved duck kidneys, 100 grams of lean pork, 250 grams of dried cabbage, 5 honey dates.
[Preparation] Soak dried cabbage in clean water until soft, cut into pieces; soak preserved duck kidneys in warm water until soft, cut into pieces; wash lean pork. Place all ingredients in a pot, add sufficient water, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 2–3 hours. Season and serve.

Prince’s Ginseng Lily Lean Meat Soup
[Ingredients] 100 grams of Prince’s ginseng, 50 grams of lily, half a loquat fruit, 150 grams of lean pork.
[Preparation] Wash the lean pork block, clean Prince’s ginseng, lily, and loquat fruit, place in a pot with adequate water, bring to a boil over high heat, then add lean pork, reduce heat, and simmer for 1–2 hours. Season and serve.
