Liquid Bread: Which Type Suits You?

🔑 Keywords: Health Food Recipes
Beer has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stimulating appetite, and many people regard it as a daily soft drink, even calling it "liquid bread." The type of beer determines its functional benefits. Let’s explore them below…
Raw beer: Also known as fresh beer, raw beer is not pasteurized, preserving its unique flavor, but it is difficult to store. A variant called pure raw beer is also unpasteurized but undergoes strict filtration during processing to remove microbes and impurities, allowing it to remain stable for months—making it popular among consumers. Since live yeast continues biochemical reactions after bottling, even within the human body, this beer tends to cause weight gain and is better suited for lean individuals.
Boiled beer: Most common beers are pasteurized, referred to as boiled beer. After pasteurization, the yeast is killed by heat and no longer ferments, resulting in greater stability—making it more suitable for overweight individuals.
Dry beer: Originating from wine, dry beer differs in sugar concentration. Regular beer retains residual sugars, whereas dry beer uses special yeast to further ferment remaining sugars until sugar levels drop to a minimum. This makes it ideal for those concerned about gaining weight or diabetic patients. However, people with diabetes are still advised against alcohol consumption.
Low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer: Using specialized processes, these brews allow yeast to produce aroma compounds without fermenting sugars, retaining most characteristics of regular beer—flavor and texture remain excellent. Typical beer has an alcohol content of around 3.5%, while non-alcoholic beer usually keeps alcohol below 1% (not zero). These are considered low-alcohol beers, with even lower malt extract concentration and alcohol content than low-alcohol versions, making them ideal for women, children, and the elderly or sick.
Sports beer: While ordinary people drink water to rehydrate, athletes lose not only water but also essential trace elements. Based on individual needs, sports beer is fortified with required trace elements and nutrients, enabling recovery of energy after exercise.
Recommended for individuals after physical exercise to replenish lost nutrients.
