Mulberry Fruit: Nourishing Kidney and Stomach, Ideal for Daily Meals

🔑 Keywords: Pharmacological Diet
In recent times, a trend of consuming mulberry products has quietly emerged in Guangzhou. Many middle-aged and elderly individuals with basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as white-collar workers from hospitals and universities, have made mulberry-based foods their preferred daily dietary ingredients—products like mulberry wine, mulberry juice, mulberry paste, mulberry pastries, and canned mulberries have become synonymous with nutritious and healthy drinks and snacks in people’s minds. In response to requests from homemakers, we introduce how to enjoy canned mulberries.
Mulberry Kidney-Nourishing Paste
Ingredients: 10 g mulberry fruit, 250 g pig liver, 2 egg whites, 10 g each of prepared rehmannia root, goji berry, mulberry wine, stir-fried female virgin root, ginger slices, 8 g cooked chicken meat, 6 g each of plantain seed, dodder seed, cistanche, 1 g each of white pepper powder and chicken essence, 15 g scallion sections, 700 ml clear broth.
Preparation: Dry and grind prepared rehmannia root, mulberry fruit, female virgin root, cistanche, dodder seed, and plantain seed into fine powder; soak goji berries in warm water until softened. Remove white tendons from pig liver, wash thoroughly, pound into paste using the back of a knife, place in a bowl, mix with 150 ml water, strain to remove residue, soak ginger slices and scallion sections in the liver juice for 15 minutes, discard the ginger and scallions, keep the liver juice. Mix the liver juice, egg whites, salt, white pepper powder, mulberry wine, and herbal powder evenly, steam over high heat for 15 minutes until the paste is fully cooked. Season with clear broth, pour into a clay pot, take out the pig liver paste and slice it, add goji berries, drizzle with chicken oil. Eat the liver paste and drink the broth.
Mulberry Porridge
Preparation: Add mulberry fruits and mulberry juice to already-cooked plain rice porridge, millet porridge, or oatmeal porridge.
Mulberry Egg Soup
Preparation: 1. Heat a pan, add 1 bowl of water, pour in 8 mulberry fruits and some mulberry juice.
2. Boil, crack in one egg, stir gently and boil again before eating. If not sweet enough, add more mulberry juice.
Mulberry Sandwich
Preparation: 1. Use square bread (preferably plain or salty), open the canned mulberries, use a small spoon to scoop mulberry fruits onto the bread—about 3–4 pieces are sufficient.
2. Scoop several spoonfuls of mulberry juice and evenly pour over the bread.
3. Hold both ends of the bread and fold them toward the center.
4. When biting, chew carefully to avoid squeezing juice out.
Benefits: Mulberries can be sandwiched into bread for breakfast, or used to make Western-style pastries and cookies. This breakfast is especially suitable for children and the elderly because mulberries help improve eyesight, clear liver heat, and enhance brain function.
Mulberry Tangyuan (Glutinous Rice Balls)
Preparation: Knead glutinous rice flour into small balls (as small as possible), boil in a pot until cooked, serve the balls together with the soup in a bowl, add mulberry fruits and mulberry juice.
Mulberry Glutinous Rice Balls Dipped in Juice
Preparation: Cook plain glutinous rice balls (plain flavor), drain and dip in mulberry juice.
Mulberry with Ice Cream
Benefits: Ice cream is a popular cold treat in summer, especially loved by children. However, nutritionists worldwide classify it as "junk food" due to lack of nutritional value. But when you place a few mulberry seeds and pour a few spoonfuls of mulberry juice over plain white ice cream, it transforms into a nutrient-rich mulberry ice cream. It tastes delicious, looks appealing, and helps detoxify and reduce acne.
Mulberry Iced Drink
Preparation: 1. Appropriate amount of mulberry fruits, 1 lemon slice, half cup crushed ice, half cup cold water.
2. Place crushed ice into half a cup of chilled water. Add several spoonfuls of mulberry juice, place a few mulberry fruits on top of the ice.
Mulberry Ice
Preparation: Pour appropriate amounts of mulberry fruits and juice over shaved ice or clean ice, add a little milk, creating a refreshing and cooling dessert.
Mulberry Lemon Tea
Ingredients: 1 cup cold water, appropriate amount of canned mulberries, 1 lemon slice.
Preparation: Place the lemon slice in a cup, pour in cold water (frozen is better), add several mulberry fruits, then add a few spoonfuls of mulberry juice, stir well and drink. The mulberry fruits must be chewed and eaten (they contain the essence).
Mulberry Tea
Preparation: Place appropriate amount of mulberry fruits in a cup. For hot drinking, pour boiling water; in hot weather, directly pour cold water or add ice cubes, stir well to make a delicious mulberry fruit tea.
"Mulberry Lemon Tea" has cooling and heat-relieving effects. Drinking one cup daily for three months results in finer skin, fading dark spots, and disappearance of acne. "Mulberry Tea" has excellent flavor.
Mulberry Fruit Salad
Preparation: 1. Peel apples, pears, and honeydew melons (mild-flavored fruits), cut into small cubes, arrange in a plate.
2. Scoop out mulberry fruits and juice from canned mulberries, mix into the fruit cubes. Adding mulberries enhances nutrition, adds sweetness, and enriches the color of the pale fruit cubes, making them less dull.
