Adaptations and Contraindications of Several TCM Health Teas

◆ Rose Flower Tea
Use 6 to 10 dried rose petals in a teacup, pour in hot water, and drink.
Benefits: Rose flowers are warm and sweet, suitable for those with liver-gastric qi stagnation, chest and armpit distension and pain, and irritability.
◆ Lotus-Hawthorn-Chrysanthemum Tea
Composed of lotus (6g), hawthorn (15g), honeysuckle (3g), and chrysanthemum (10g). Boil these ingredients in 500 ml of water until boiling, then drink.
Benefits: Lotus is sweet, neutral, clears lung heat, removes dampness, and reduces swelling; hawthorn is sour and sweet, promotes blood circulation; honeysuckle is sweet and cold, clears heat.
Not suitable for those prone to fatigue, loose stools (loose bowel movements in TCM), or pale complexion.
◆ Goji-Chrysanthemum Herbal Tea
Consists of 10 grams each of goji berries, white chrysanthemum, and green tea. Soak these ingredients in boiling water for 10 minutes, then drink.
Benefits: Chrysanthemum is sweet and bitter; goji berries are sweet and neutral, nourish yin and moisturize; suitable for those with poor eyesight, dry mouth, and dizziness.
Not suitable for those with cold extremities, weak spleen, or tendency toward diarrhea.
◆ Cassia Seed Tea (also known as Cassia Tea)
Crush 30 grams of cassia seeds and decoct into tea. Benefits: Clears heat, improves vision, lubricates intestines, and relieves constipation—ideal for those experiencing frequent dizziness, irritability, constipation, dry mouth, and bitter taste.
Not suitable for those with waist soreness, frequent urination, or kidney yang deficiency.
