Folk Remedies for Diabetes
1. Extract the flesh from small sea clams, mash into paste, cook until tender, and consume warm several times daily.
2. Take 20 large pond snails, soak in clean water to remove mud and sand, extract the snail meat, mix with half small cup of yellow wine, stir well, then cook with water until tender. Drink the soup once daily. 3. Remove internal organs from codfish, wash thoroughly. Cook as usual or prepare as soup for consumption (codfish pancreas contains abundant insulin). 4. Several pieces of pig pancreas (cow or sheep pancreas also acceptable), wash, chop finely, dry, grind into powder, store in bottle. Take 3-5 grams before meals, three times daily, continuously. 5. One pig pancreas, 50 grams Coix seed or 100 grams Astragalus membranaceus, decoct and take orally, one dose daily for 10 days. 6. 200 grams pig pancreas, 30 grams corn silk, decoct and divide into two doses, take twice daily. 7. 250 grams rabbit meat, combined with appropriate amount of Chinese yam, decoct into concentrated juice. Cool, drink when thirsty. 8. 100 grams fresh spinach roots, 15 grams dried chicken gizzard lining, decoct and drink, 2–3 times daily. 9. 500 grams celery, crush and extract juice, boil and drink, twice daily. 10. 100 grams fresh green onions, wash, blanch in boiling water, cut fine, add a little oil for seasoning, serve as side dish with meals, twice daily. 11. Wash fresh persimmon leaves, soak in salt water, eat 5–6 leaves daily. 12. Mix wheat bran and refined wheat flour in appropriate amounts, one egg, 100 grams lean meat minced, vegetables chopped, add oil and salt for flavor, form into cakes or paste to substitute staple food. Avoid white rice or refined flour. 13. 100 grams Ipomoea aquatica stem, 50 grams corn silk, decoct and drink. 14. Use mushrooms as vegetables or boil into broth for drinking, which can improve diabetes symptoms.<Diabetes>
