Optimal Daily Tea Intake for Healthy Individuals
Tea offers many benefits, but moderation is key. Overconsumption or overly strong tea can harm the body.
Excessive tea drinking leads to accumulation of theobromine, causing strong stimulation and nervous system imbalance. Too much tea increases body water, burdening the heart and kidneys. Drinking very strong or excessive tea causes overexcitement. Drinking too much strong tea at night may result in increased heart rate and frequent urination, disrupting sleep.
Generally, healthy adults should drink 4–5 cups of moderately strong tea daily—about 6–7 grams of tea leaves. Children should drink less, typically no more than 2–3 small cups. Tea drinking time should be scientifically scheduled, preferably during daytime.
In short, people of different ages and physical conditions should adjust tea quantity and strength according to their own circumstances.
