According to the Health Times, experts point out that for hypertensive patients, besides taking medication, there are many other methods that can help lower blood pressure.
Drinking orange juice: orange juice is rich in vitamin C, which helps dilate blood vessels. Taking 60 mg of vitamin C tablets daily, or eating more vegetables, lemons, or other sour fruits, can have a similar effect.
Avoid excessive coffee consumption: consuming caffeine equivalent to two cups of coffee within one day raises blood pressure by 2–3 mmHg, as caffeine causes blood vessel constriction leading to increased blood pressure.
Drink milk to supplement calcium: daily intake of 1 gram of calcium can reduce blood pressure by 1–2 mmHg after 8 weeks, as calcium helps maintain arterial wall flexibility.
Eat garlic regularly: consuming 2–3 cloves of garlic daily is the best and simplest method to lower blood pressure, as garlic helps maintain proper levels of certain enzymes in the body and prevents hypertension.
Avoid excessive fatigue in the morning: generally, heart disease often occurs in the morning, partly because blood pressure is at least 5 mmHg higher before 11 a.m. than at other times.
Have sweet melon and yogurt for breakfast: sweet melon and yogurt contain high levels of potassium, which helps control blood pressure.
Take a walk outdoors after lunch: a foreign study found that sunbathing outdoors for 10 minutes can lower blood pressure by 6 mmHg. Ultraviolet radiation stimulates the body to produce vitamin D3, which interacts with calcium to regulate arterial blood pressure.
Avoid using bread as dinner: white bread’s wheat flour increases insulin levels in the body, which can raise blood pressure within hours.
