Several Teas for Preventing and Treating Colds
Since the PPA controversy regarding cold medication, many people have been unsure what to do when they catch a cold! Actually, if you can prepare a simple herbal tea yourself, you can still effectively avoid the discomfort of colds.
Preventive Cold Tea
50 grams each of Isatis root and large blue leaf, 30 grams each of wild chrysanthemum and honeysuckle. Place all four herbs into a large teacup, pour boiling water over them, and let steep for a moment before drinking. Use this as a daily tea to clear heat and detoxify, suitable for preventing influenza and similar conditions. This herbal tea also shows good preventive effects against epidemic encephalitis and respiratory infections.
Treatment Tea for Influenza

This tea treats influenza by dispelling wind, clearing heat, and relieving sore throat. All three herbs have strong antiviral activity against influenza viruses and excellent heat-clearing and detoxifying effects.
