High-Fat Sea Fish Benefits Body and Mind
Scientists have proven that fish fat is a key factor in disease prevention and longevity.
High-fat fish contain mostly high-molecular polyunsaturated fatty acids, which reduce cholesterol levels in the body, lower blood pressure, promote blood circulation, prevent arteriosclerosis, and help avoid cardiovascular diseases. Some foreign researchers believe fish fat is even more beneficial to humans than corn oil or sunflower oil. American biologists and nutritionists discovered a substance called S-3 in fish fat, which, when entering the human body, can relieve cerebral vascular spasm, reduce pain intensity and frequency of severe migraines, and enhance the body’s anti-inflammatory ability. Japanese experts found that fish fat can alleviate local pain in rheumatoid arthritis patients and extracted a water-soluble compound from certain fish oils effective in treating diabetes. Even more exciting is that S-3 can inhibit the growth of certain breast cancer cells.
Fish meat contains abundant protein, earning it the title of "high-protein food," easily absorbed and utilized by the human body. Additionally, fish meat is rich in taurine, which strengthens the heart and circulatory system, benefits liver function and nervous system. Taurine also brightens the eyes and enhances adaptation to dim light.
Chemical analysis shows that polyunsaturated fatty acids, S-3, and taurine in sea fish are significantly higher than in freshwater fish. Thus, eating more high-fat sea fish greatly benefits health. It is recommended to eat fish at least twice a week.
