Drink Juice or Sugar Water After Drinking Alcohol
Drink juice or sugar water after drinking alcohol
According to the Food and Health Report, many people drink strong tea after intoxication to sober up. Actually, strong tea does not relieve drunkenness—it worsens the situation.
Alcohol directly damages the gastric mucosa, potentially causing gastritis, duodenal ulcers, or even gastric bleeding. Strong tea also irritates the gastric mucosa, stimulating increased gastric acid secretion—thus exacerbating the damage caused by alcohol to the stomach lining.
Alcohol accelerates blood flow, dilates blood vessels, and strongly excites the heart, increasing heart rate. Caffeine in tea also stimulates the heart. Combined, they greatly increase cardiac workload. Therefore, drinking tea after alcohol consumption is unwise.
So what should one eat or drink after intoxication? Opt for vinegar, fruit juice, sugar water, or fruits.
