Decubitus Ulcer Wine
Elven-Fang Wine
[Drug Composition] Notoginseng Blood Calamus Amber Raw Rhubarb Peach Kernel Safflower Eupatorium Tail Angelica Frankincense Eucommia Bone Setting Herb Earth Bug Eucommia Prepared Horse Money Seed Sappan Wood Qinjiao Natural Copper Myrrh Seven Leaves One Branch No Name Other
[Function and Indications] Activate blood circulation, resolve stasis, reduce swelling and pain, promote wound healing and tissue regeneration.
[Dosage and Administration] External use: Fill wound with medicated gauze soaked in wine, apply wine once daily. Can also be taken internally. When skin turns red, apply 10ml of Elven-Fang Wine to palms and massage affected area 2–3 times daily. For blisters, aspirate fluid with sterile syringe, then apply wine 2–3 times daily. For ulcers with exudate, immediately apply Elven-Fang Wine-soaked gauze, change 3–4 times daily.
[Preparation Method] Place appropriate amounts of herbs in 7500ml of Sanhua rice wine, soak for 3–6 months.

[Note] Skin redness usually returns to normal in 3–4 days, blisters dry and crust in 4–5 days, ulcer wounds heal in 1–2 weeks. Among 92 treated cases, no grade III blisters occurred, and no pre-existing lesions worsened. (Guangxi Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine)
Compound Safflower Wine
[Drug Composition] Safflower 50g Astragalus 30g White Thistle 20g 75% Ethanol (Alcohol) 500ml
[Function and Indications] Decubitus ulcers, sprains with hematoma, skin burns.
[Drug Composition] Dried Safflower 30g 70% Ethanol (Alcohol) 100ml
[Function and Indications] Activate blood circulation, resolve stasis, relieve pain and nodules. Indicated for: ① Local hard lump and swelling caused by injection. ② Trauma-related swelling and pain. ③ Formation of decubitus ulcers.
[Dosage and Administration] Dip gauze or cotton in 30% safflower anti-nodule wine, rub locally 2–3 times daily, 5 minutes each time.
[Preparation Method] Add dried safflower to 100ml of 70% ethanol, soak and seal for one week, filter out residue for use.

Comment: The longer the soaking time, the better the effect.
Xiong Shen Hua Wine
[Drug Composition] Ligusticum 10g Salvia 10g Safflower 10g
[Function and Indications] Resolve blood stasis, activate circulation, promote qi flow and unblock meridians. Treat decubitus ulcers.
[Dosage and Administration] Prevention group: Apply medicine on bony prominences every 2–4 hours, massage gently for 3–5 minutes, then dust with talcum powder. Treatment group: Apply medicine 4–6 times daily during early stage (erythema phase). For blisters or ulcerated skin (ulcer phase), apply medicine 6–8 times daily around the wound, keep clean, and protect with cotton ring to prevent further pressure.
[Preparation Method] Grind herbs into powder, soak in 500ml of 50% ethanol for over one month, filter and reserve the liquid.

Red Dang Wine
[Drug Composition] Safflower 30g Angelica Tail 30g
[Function and Indications] Activate blood circulation, resolve stasis, unblock meridians, relieve pain, reduce swelling. Treat decubitus ulcers.
[Dosage and Administration] Apply a small amount of Red Dang Wine to pressure areas, massage circularly from light to heavy using palm muscles for 3–5 minutes, then dust with talcum or baby powder, 4–6 times daily.
[Preparation Method] Soak both herbs in 1000ml of 50% ethanol for one month, filter and reserve clear liquid.
