Xiao Hong Teng Wine (Poisonous Snake Bite)
[Formula] 65g of Xiao Hong Teng, 25g of Red Bud Big Chrysanthemum, 45g of Realgar, 200ml white wine.
[Preparation] Prepare two doses per day. For one dose: crush all three herbs (first three), place in container, add white wine, stir for about 15 minutes until aroma is extracted, then ready for use. The other dose: add appropriate water, decoct for about 30 minutes, keep for later use.
[Efficacy] Clear heat and detoxify, reduce swelling and relieve pain, promote tissue regeneration.
[Indications] Poisonous snake bites, suitable for bamboo leaf green snake, Qishé snake, turtle shell flower snake, centipede, yellow wasp, and other venomous insect bites.
[Administration] First make an incision at bite site (connecting both fang marks, extending to subcutaneous level), use cupping therapy to draw out bad blood and venom. Then use this formula: take two doses daily. Use decoction for washing and soaking the injured area; for wine preparation: oral, take 50–60ml each time, three times daily. After washing, use medicinal wine again: dip cotton swab in wine and rub from top to bottom, light to heavy, on swollen area of limb wound, squeezing continuously. Each session lasts about 20 minutes to expel venom. Instruct family members to frequently rub the swollen area with this wine to keep it moist.
