Herpes Simplex Keratitis

【Syndrome】Real-heat syndrome.
【Therapeutic Method】Clearing heat and detoxifying, clearing liver and nourishing kidney, improving vision and removing corneal opacity.
【Formula Name】Jin Huang Tang (Golden Yellow Decoction).
【Composition】Golden Fruit Root 10g, Polygonatum 18g, Millettia Flower 6g, Equisetum Herb 8g, Abrus Seed 9g, Dodder Seed 9g, Goji Berry 13g, Fried Licorice Root 5g.
【Usage】Decocted twice, taken twice daily. Add Hangzhou Chrysanthemum 9g and Prickly Ash Seed 12g in third decoction, then used for eye fumigation and washing once nightly.

【Syndrome】Wind-heat exterior real syndrome, Spleen deficiency with damp-heat, Liver and Gallbladder fire-toxin.
【Therapeutic Method】Dispersing wind-heat, clearing heat and detoxifying, promoting diuresis to remove dampness, draining Liver fire and improving vision.
【Formula Name】Qing Du Ming Mu Yin (Clearing Toxicity and Brightening Eyes Decoction).
【Composition】Dandelion 20g, Dandelion 20g, Honeysuckle 20g, Chrysanthemum 12g, Red Peony Root 12g, Cassia Seed 12g, Plantain Seed 12g, Bupleurum 9g, Mint 6g, Stephania 6g, Cicada Slough 6g, Polygonatum (or Prince’s Ginseng) 15g.
【Usage】One dose per day; use re-decocted liquid for eye fumigation, 2–3 times monthly, 15–20 minutes each session.
