Immortal Porridge for Cold Relief
The widely circulated folk song about the "Immortal Porridge" goes: "One handful of rice boiled into gruel, seven stalks of green onion, seven slices of ginger, mixed with half a cup of vinegar after cooking, ensures health and safety from colds." This porridge specifically treats symptoms like headache, body aches, fatigue, and fever caused by wind-cold invasion, especially effective within three days of onset, capable of achieving miraculous results—"the porridge arrives, the illness departs."
Specific preparation and usage of the "Immortal Porridge": Rinse 50 grams of glutinous rice, add appropriate water and cook into thin porridge. Then add seven stalks of green onion (about 30 grams) and seven slices of ginger (about 15 grams), boil for five more minutes, followed by adding 50 ml of rice vinegar, stir well, and serve immediately.
