Common Acupuncture Points for Beauty and Skin Care
Exclude black-and-white facial points
Acupoints: Xingjian (LR2), Taichong (LR3).
Needling method: Use filiform needles; employ draining technique for robust individuals, tonifying technique for weak or delicate ones.
Explanation: This method originates from Sun Simiao’s "Qianjin Yaofang" of the Tang Dynasty. The liver stores blood and governs free flow; if liver qi is stagnated or excessively discharged, its normal function of regulating is disrupted, leading to poor circulation of qi and blood and dull, dark complexion. Acupuncture at Xingjian and Taichong, both belonging to the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian, helps restore the liver's function of free flow, promoting smooth circulation of qi and blood, thus transforming dark complexion into a healthy white appearance.

Needling method: Select one primary point group and one supplementary point group, needle bilaterally.
Explanation: The primary points are mostly back-shu points, where vital energy of zang-fu organs gathers abundantly. Regular acupuncture at these points can comprehensively regulate the balance of qi and blood in internal organs, stimulate vigorous meridian energy, thereby achieving longevity and lasting youthful appearance.
Acupuncture Points for Wrinkle Prevention and Reduction
Primary points: Sizhukong (TE23), Zanzhu (BL2), Taiyang (EX-HN5), Juyao (SI18), Yingxiang (LI20), Jiache (ST6), Yifeng (SJ17).
Supplementary points: Zhongwan (CV12), Hegu (LI4), Quchi (LI11), Zusanli (ST36).
Needling method: Use 3 primary points per session, 1–2 supplementary points per session; apply draining technique to primary points, tonifying technique to supplementary points.
Explanation: The combination principle lies in integrating local and distal point selection. From a local perspective, select points near wrinkle-prone areas; from a holistic view of zang-fu and meridian regulation, choose Yangming meridian points. Combined use enhances therapeutic effects.
