How to Enhance Vitality through Massage?
Massage therapy is a hallmark of traditional Chinese medicine, capable of unblocking meridians and tonifying the kidneys to boost yang energy. By massaging specific areas, it can treat erectile dysfunction. The methods are simple and easy to learn, suitable for patients or their partners. Here are some techniques:
(1) Abdominal Friction: Before bedtime, place one hand on the lower abdomen just below the navel, the other on the waist. While holding the waist steady, slowly rub the lower abdomen from right to left until a sensation of warmth is felt.
(2) Groin Massage: Before bedtime, place both hands on the groin areas (the inner thighs). Gently massage diagonally for 36 times, ideally several times per week. This helps enhance sexual desire and boost energy.
(3) Rubbing the Testicles: Warm both hands first. Use the right hand to grasp both testicles, placing the right testicle in the palm and the left in the webbing between the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Gently rotate 30–50 times clockwise, then reverse. Alternatively, use the rubbing method: first hold the scrotum taut with one hand, fix the external genitalia, then place the palm of the other hand on the testicles and gently rub until slight warmth is felt. This method, known as “protecting the scrotum and external genitals,” is highly recommended by traditional Chinese health practitioners.
(4) Friction of Both Ears: In the morning, gently rub or press the bilateral antihelix bodies and other ear regions with fingertips or the fleshy part of the fingers in a circular motion, or apply point pressure and kneading until mild soreness and heat are felt. This method harmonizes yin and yang, unblocks qi and blood, strengthens the kidneys, and consolidates essence—endorsed by generations of health practitioners.
(5) Leg Stretching to Strengthen Kidneys: Lie supine. Bring both hands from the knees up to the hip joints, then along the front of the thigh to the top of the head, cross hands with palms upward. Extend both legs straight, let hands fall downward, stretch forward, bend the upper body forward, and bring hands to the soles of the feet at the Yongquan acupoint. Push the feet straight while pulling hands backward—opposite forces—then release to return to the supine position. Repeat 10 times or adjust based on ability. This method strengthens the waist and knees, tonifies the kidneys, and consolidates essence.
(6) Rubbing and Striking the Kidney Region: Place both palms on the same side of the waist, rub up and down repeatedly for about 2 minutes until a deep warmth is felt. Alternatively, clench fists and alternately strike the waist with the back of both hands, applying moderate force—about 100 strikes per session. Since the waist is the residence of the kidneys, rubbing and striking this area is known as “scraping the essence gate.” It strengthens the kidneys, fortifies the waist, nourishes essence, and unblocks meridians.
