A Small Hammer for Health

🔑 Keywords: Other · Acupuncture and Tuina
Health hammers are readily available on the market—wooden or horn-based, priced from several to dozens of yuan. Don’t underestimate them; properly used, they can become valuable home wellness tools.
Tap the soles of the feet: As the saying goes, "Weak feet mean short life." The soles contain numerous health points rich in nerve endings. Regular tapping stimulates the feet, helping nourish yin, reduce fire, calm the spirit, improve vision, and balance liver and kidneys. It can prevent or treat headaches, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, and nephritis.
Tap Zusanli: Zusanli (a point on the Stomach Meridian, located 3 cun below the outer knee, on the anterior lateral side of the lower leg) is a key health point. Regular tapping strengthens the spleen and stomach, unblocks meridians, replenishes deficiency, enhances digestion and absorption, and boosts immunity. It helps prevent knee pain, stomachache, and diarrhea.
Tap Dazhui and Jianjing: When you tilt your head down, the most prominent bone at the back of the neck is the Dazhui point. Jianjing lies in the depression between the scapula and clavicle. Regularly tapping Dazhui, Jianjing, and surrounding muscles improves local blood circulation and prevents cervical-scapular syndrome—especially beneficial for office workers and computer users. Method: Hold the hammer in the right hand, slowly tap from left Jianjing to Dazhui to right Jianjing (including muscles between points), then return. Repeat 150 times. Switch to the left hand and repeat 150 times. This simultaneously stimulates acupoints and exercises both shoulder joints—double benefits. Note: Dazhui has thin tissue—apply less force. Tap the palms: The palm contains over 30 acupoints. Regular tapping and massaging these points promote blood and qi flow, regulate organs, and enhance overall health. Emphasize: Adjust tapping force according to individual tolerance—comfortable and bearable is ideal.
