Gua Sha Therapy for Fever
Position: Sitting or prone.
Procedure: The practitioner uses a smooth, flat spoon dipped in a little oil or water, gently scraping along the patient’s spine bilaterally, neck, intercostal regions of the chest, shoulders, elbows, elbow pits, and popliteal fossae until the skin turns slightly red or purplish. For mild cases, once daily; for severe cases, twice daily. Drink warm water after Gua Sha to aid sweating.
