Walking Barefoot on Round Logs in Spring
Walking barefoot on a pebble path, letting the uneven surface massage the soles, is highly beneficial for relieving pain and enhancing health. Sitting indoors on a chair and repeatedly rubbing the bare soles against a round log or bamboo tube produces even better health benefits than walking on pebbles.
We know that each organ in the human body has its corresponding "pressure point" and "projection zone" on the sole of the foot. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the normal functioning of bodily organs and their health depend on the smooth flow of qi and blood. When an organ is invaded by viruses or affected by other factors, it produces a substance called uric acid. This substance disperses into the bloodstream and gradually accumulates and hardens in the soles of the feet, forming nodules that obstruct the flow of qi and blood, leading to illness. When the soles are repeatedly rubbed against a round log, the stimulation breaks up these hardened deposits, dispersing them into the bloodstream, where they are expelled via the liver, gallbladder, intestines, kidneys, or bladder. Once the stagnation in the soles is cleared, blood and qi flow smoothly, circulation improves, organs receive adequate nutrition and replenishment, and waste products and toxins are eliminated. Thus, the body recovers from illness.
