Massage Therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Treatment Methods: Press and rub Fei Yu (BL13), point and rub Da Zhui (GV14), rub and stroke Shen Yu (BL23), strongly stroke the lumbar-sacral region; grasp and press Neiguan (PC6) and Waiguan (SJ5); massage Zhongwan (CV12), rub Guanyuan (CV4), obliquely stroke the lower abdomen; rub and press Ququan (LR8), grasp Yinlingquan (SP9), Yanglingquan (GB34), and grasp and rub Sanyinjiao (SP6).
Additional Points Based on Symptoms: For dizziness, tinnitus, soreness and distension in the waist, discomfort or stabbing pain below the lower abdomen, frequent urination, urgency, dysuria: add pressing and rubbing Fengchi (GB20), grasping and rubbing Hegu (LI4), point pressing Taichong (LR3), grasping and rubbing Taixi (KI3) and Kunlun (BL60); for distending pain below the lower abdomen, vertigo, heavy limbs, fullness in chest and epigastrium, poor appetite, excessive sleepiness, turbid urine: add pressing and rubbing Pishu (BL20) and Sanjiao Shu (BL22), point pressing Fenglong (ST40) and Chengshan (BL57); for elderly with weak constitution, dizziness, blurred vision, pale complexion, fatigue, poor appetite, loose stools: add pressing and rubbing Pishu (BL20), grasping and pressing Zusanli (ST36).
Precautions: During treatment, sexual activity should be moderated, avoid cold exposure and fatigue; pay attention to diet, avoid excessive alcohol and greasy, spicy, stimulating foods.
