(1) Damp-Heat Obstruction: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody mucoid stools resembling dark red jam, foul-smelling, anal burning sensation, short red urine, yellow greasy coating, slippery rapid pulse.

(3) Exuberant Heat-Toxin: Copious pus and blood in stool, extremely foul odor, abdominal pain, palpable mass in abdomen, painful on pressure, chills, high fever, red tongue with yellow greasy coating, slippery rapid or string-rapid pulse.

(4) Deficiency-Cold Dysentery: Persistent diarrhea, loose stools with white mucus, foul smell, or uncontrollable bowel movements, or vague abdominal pain, poor appetite, fatigue, pale tongue with thin white coating, deep fine pulse.

[Prevention and Care]
