Four Rules for Elderly Health Preservation in Autumn
Today features mainly sunny weather, with maximum temperatures rising to 29°C. Many elderly people experience fatigue and exhaustion in autumn. Experts therefore advise that to stay physically strong, seniors must adhere to the following “Four Avoidances”:
1. Avoid laziness: Increase outdoor activities such as jogging, walking, tai chi, dancing, or exercises. At home, do more household chores and stay physically active—avoid prolonged sitting.
2. Avoid over-fatigue: Arrange exercise and household tasks wisely, balancing work and rest appropriately so that all body tissues and organs receive adequate recovery.
3. Avoid overeating: Overindulgence increases weight and leads to obesity. Obesity causes “four highs”—high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and high cholesterol.
4. Avoid anger: Emotional fluctuations in the elderly can lead to anger when encountering setbacks, disrupting normal organ functions and increasing risks of gastric ulcers, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and similar conditions. Thus, when facing difficulties, one should control emotions and remain calm.
