Health Preservation for Older Expectant Mothers
Women over 30 often feel uncomfortable after pregnancy. A few simple techniques can make life more comfortable.
Elevate Feet: Whenever possible, sit and raise your feet—use a drawer or storage box turned upside down as a footrest.
Relaxation Exercises: Practice simple neck, shoulder, pelvic, and foot movements during car rides or work hours. These exercises relieve tension and improve blood circulation.
Squatting Practice: If you must bend over, try squatting instead to build leg strength and practice labor positions.
Healthy Diet: Always carry nutritious snacks. Even with nausea, occasional hunger may arise. Whole wheat crackers or a glass of milk can fill your stomach and simultaneously ease nausea.
Slow Down Work Pace: Don’t push yourself too hard. Adopt a relaxed standard for household chores, prioritizing tasks by importance. After all, the health of the fetus and yourself matters more than a spotless home.
Avoid Certain Foods: Older expectant mothers tend to gain weight easily during pregnancy. Control your weight by avoiding sugary foods—the main cause of excessive weight gain.
