Dietary Therapy for "Five-Morning Diarrhea"
"Five-morning diarrhea" refers to morning diarrhea, commonly seen in middle-aged and elderly individuals. TCM attributes this condition primarily to spleen and kidney yang deficiency. In addition to keeping the abdomen warm and avoiding raw cold foods, proper dietary therapy can yield satisfactory results.
• Bone-Fortifying Herb Wine: Take 60g of bone-fortifying herb (Psoralea corylifolia), soak in 500ml of baijiu (white liquor) for about a week. Drink one small cup every night. Alternatively, take 10g of bone-fortifying herb and one pair of pig kidneys (cleaned and diced), simmer in water for one hour, season, and consume in 2–3 divided doses every other day. Repeated use yields certain efficacy.
• Vinegar-Marinated Ginger Tea: Take fresh ginger, wash and slice thinly, marinate in rice vinegar for 24 hours. When using, take 3 slices of ginger with appropriate rock sugar, steep with boiling water as tea. Regular consumption helps stop diarrhea.
